Two moments from this episode
Bob Barker Plays Hard Hat
Tom Bergeron's live morning show, Breakfast Time, was broadcast from a television apartment in the Flatiron District while a water main break was being repaired outside for weeks. Bob Barker came by to promote a movie, and before air Tom asked him to go out and improvise a version of his game with the crew. The workers had to guess the retail price of their own equipment, on live television, entirely off the cuff.
“Would you be willing to go out there and play Hard Hat Price is Right?”
Backlit At The Party
At a Christmas party at Whoopi Goldberg's place in Tuxedo Park, Tom Bergeron's wife Lois fell into a long, relaxed conversation with another guest. Driving away, Tom told her he was impressed she had been so at ease with Robert De Niro. Lois explained she had not recognized him because he was standing in front of a stained glass window, camera around his neck, taking pictures of his kid.
“And Lois said he was backlit.”
