Dropping Names…and other things
Season 2 Logo Contest

Official Contest Rules

Last updated: August 10, 2026

These are the official rules for the Dropping Names Season 2 Logo Contest. By entering, you agree to these rules. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

1. Sponsor

The contest is sponsored and administered by Dropping Names, LLC ("we," "us," the "Sponsor"), the company behind the podcast Dropping Names ...and other things with Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes, 4605 Lankershim Blvd Ste 180, North Hollywood, CA 91602, United States.

2. This is a contest of skill

Entries are judged on the merit of the design. Winning is not determined by chance, and no payment or purchase of any kind is necessary to enter or to win. A purchase will not improve your chance of winning.

3. Eligibility

  • Open worldwide, where permitted by law. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
  • Entrants must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter.
  • Not open to residents of any country or region subject to comprehensive United States sanctions or trade restrictions, or to anyone United States law prevents us from awarding a prize to.
  • Employees, contractors, and immediate family or household members of the Sponsor, the hosts, and anyone involved in producing or judging the contest are not eligible.
  • One submission per person and per email address. If we receive more than one entry from the same person or address, only the first will be considered and the rest will be discarded.

4. Entry period

The entry period began on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026 at 12:00 AM Pacific Time and closes October 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Late, incomplete, or undeliverable submissions will not be accepted. Our server clock decides whether an entry arrived in time. We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, or not received for any reason, including technical failure on your side or ours.

5. How to enter

Complete the entry form at droppingnames.com/contest with your details, your uploaded artwork, and a short description.

6. Submission requirements

Your submission must:

  • Feature the likeness of both hosts, Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes, as the centerpiece of the design.
  • Be completely original artwork created entirely by you.
  • Not contain AI generated artwork.
  • Not include copyrighted material, trademarks, logos, or artwork owned by another person or company. The likeness of the hosts is the one exception, and is required for this contest.
  • Be submitted as a PNG or JPG image.
  • Include a short description of 250 characters or less.

7. What you promise us about your entry

By entering, you confirm that the artwork is entirely your own original work, that you own all rights in it, that it has not been copied or adapted from anyone else's work, that it was not generated by artificial intelligence, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights. You agree to defend and indemnify the Sponsor and the hosts against any claim, loss, or expense arising from a breach of that promise.

8. Use of the hosts' likenesses

This contest requires you to depict Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes. For that limited purpose only, and only for the duration of this contest, you are permitted to include their likenesses in your entry. All rights in their names, likenesses, voices, and personas remain entirely theirs. Entering does not give you any right to sell, license, print, merchandise, or otherwise commercially exploit your entry or any artwork featuring them, whether you win or not, and you agree not to do so.

9. Judging and selection

Our production team reviews all qualifying submissions and selects the finalists. Finalists are revealed during a live judging event, where Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes review the designs and hear live audience feedback. Audience participation helps influence the final decision, but Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes make the official final selection. The judges' decisions are final.

10. Prizes

The winning designer will receive:

  • A VIP day at the Dropping Names studio during three guest recording sessions.
  • Lunch with Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes.
  • Behind the scenes access during the visit.
  • Recognition as the official designer of the Dropping Names Season 2 logo.

One runner up will receive an official Dropping Names merchandise package.

The approximate retail value of the grand prize is $250 US. The approximate retail value of the runner up prize is the retail price of the merchandise package. Total approximate retail value of all prizes is under $5,000 US. The value of a prize is the most you will receive; there is no cash alternative and no difference will be paid out.

Airfare, hotel, ground transportation, meals outside of the scheduled lunch, and every other travel or personal expense are the responsibility of the winner. Prizes are personal to the winner, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the one described becomes unavailable, and we may reschedule the studio visit to fit the recording calendar. One prize per person.

11. Taxes

The winner and runner up are solely responsible for all federal, state, local, and any foreign taxes on the value of a prize, and for any reporting of it. If the value of a prize reaches the threshold set by United States tax law, we are required to issue a Form 1099 and may require a completed Form W-9 or the equivalent, together with proof of identity and age, before the prize is awarded. If you do not provide what we need, we may disqualify you and select another winner.

12. Winner notification

We will contact the winner and runner up using the email address on the entry form within 14 days of the judging event. If a winner does not respond within 7 days, if the message bounces, or if the winner is found to be ineligible or unable to accept the prize, we may disqualify that entry and select an alternate. Keep your email address current, since it is the only way we have to reach you.

13. Ownership and rights

All entrants. You keep ownership of your artwork unless you win. By entering, you grant the Sponsor a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to display and reproduce your submission in connection with this contest, including during the livestream, on our website, and on our social media, with credit to you whenever practical.

The winner. By entering, and by checking the certification box on the entry form as your electronic signature, you agree that if your design is selected as the winner you thereby assign to the Sponsor all right, title, and interest in the design, including the entire copyright, worldwide and for the full term of protection. You agree to sign any further document we reasonably ask for to confirm or record that assignment. To the fullest extent permitted by law you also waive, and agree not to assert, any moral rights or rights of attribution and integrity in the design, because the logo will be refined, modified, simplified, recoloured, or otherwise adapted for use as the official Season 2 logo.

14. Publicity

Except where prohibited by law, by accepting a prize you agree that we may use your name, city and state or country, your winning design, and your likeness or voice recorded during the studio visit, in connection with the contest and in publicity for the show, without further notice, approval, or payment.

15. Disqualification

Submissions that do not clearly feature the likeness of both hosts, that contain AI generated artwork, or that include copyrighted, offensive, or inappropriate material will be disqualified. We may also disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process, submits multiple entries under different addresses, or acts in a way that is unfair to other entrants.

16. Release and limitation of liability

By entering, you release the Sponsor, the hosts, and everyone involved in running the contest from any claim, injury, loss, or damage arising out of your participation, out of accepting, travelling for, or using a prize, or out of any technical failure of the entry process. Nothing in these rules limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Changes to the contest

If fraud, a technical failure, or anything else beyond our reasonable control affects the fairness or proper running of the contest, we may modify, suspend, or cancel it, and award the prizes from the eligible entries received up to that point. Any change will be posted on this page.

18. Governing law

These rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute relating to this contest will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction. Void where prohibited.

19. General

This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any podcast platform or social media network. Your information is handled per our Privacy Policy. If any part of these rules is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Questions? Reach us through our contact form.
